Nested in the heart of Toronto's Bloor and Yonge neighborhood, Bakes & Bites on Bloor is a modern Parisienne café and bakery that specializes in the art of baking artisan baguettes and viennoiseries. With a wide assortment of gourmet pastries and sourdough bread sandwiches, served with aromatic blooming teas and blended coffee, Bakes & Bites on Bloor is a delight to the senses.
Every day, we flourish our savoir-faire and share our passion for sourdough bread, traditional French breads, viennoiseries, pastries, and chocolates, with the lovely people of Toronto. We take pride in our food quality and work hard to ensure that every bite you take is just as heavenly-pleasing as the next.
Ethan moved from France to Toronto in 2012. He met Lea in 2016 and the two have been inseparable since. The only thing missing in his life was good bread. That is until he started baking. With a background in engineering, he perfected his recipes down to a science. When they aren't baking, they visit local farmer's markets, hike, and drink wine.
We started as a two-person cottage bakery making handcrafted small batches of slow fermented, sourdough bread. Through lots of trial, error, and butter, we curated a menu that brings France to Toronto. We opened near Yonge Street on Bloor in May of 2022. Each croissant is still rolled by hand and we hope you taste how special that is!
